Energy Insights+ Research Analyst

LCP Delta is looking for an Analyst or Associate Consultant to join our Residential Energy Research team with a focus on our Energy Insights+ service. This is a great opportunity to become an international expert in the energy transition within a supportive and rewarding work environment.

LCP Delta’s Residential Energy team and Energy Insights+ Service 

Energy insights refer to the data visualisations, analytical tools and engagement techniques that energy companies offer residential customers to help them better understand and manage their energy use. 

The Energy Insights + research service provides clients with proprietary data, detailed research and thought leadership into market trends, players and functionality across Europe. 

The Energy Insights + service supports a range of clients including energy retailers, product manufacturers and start-ups to unlock value using energy insights in accelerating customers’ personal sustainable energy journeys. 

Energy Insights is one research service within our wider umbrella of Residential Energy Research Services. This also includes home energy management, connected homes, new energy strategies, decarbonisation of heat and solar PV research. We support subscribers through the provision of market-leading insights, data, forecasts and market intelligence on the European residential energy sector. Existing subscribers are at the leading edge of the energy transition and focus on digitalising and decarbonising homes. Subscribers include international energy companies, electrical appliance manufacturers, tech start-ups, network companies and investors.    

What will you be doing?

  • Leading in-depth research on the rapidly evolving Residential Energy sector, with a particular focus on energy insights which will include a variety of qualitative and quantitative research methods: 
    • discussion with industry experts and other professionals
    • secondary research, identifying and analysing data from other sources
  • Collaborating closely with colleagues across the Residential Energy team and more widely to ensure a unified use of data, and insight derived from it
  • Managing and delivering engaging and meaningful content to our research subscribers in the form of reports, databases, and viewpoints
  • Communicating with clients or subscribers virtually and in person via presentations, email, webinars and video conferencing
  • Project managing and / or leading data projects and reports
  • Building relationships with industry contacts on behalf of the company, developing client relationships and contributing to the development of the business
  • Becoming a thought leader, identify trends and sharing insight on home energy topics

What skills, experience and qualities are we looking for? 

  • Relevant BSc, MSc, PhD, or MBA qualifications and/or ideally relevant experience in the energy transition, working with (for example, but not limited to) energy companies, technology manufacturers, policy makers, ‘start-ups’ or industry associations would be an advantage
  • Evidence of your ability to apply a variety of research methods, including face-to-face and video-conference discussion with industry experts and other professionals
  • The ability to synthesise information and insight from a variety of sources, to create impactful research and compelling narratives for our clients
  • Excellent analytical skills, able to break down complex problems, able to build credible market projections backed by well-researched analysis
  • Great interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with other teams
  • Good organisational and project management skills
  • A willingness to develop new industry contacts and clients and attend events where required. A desire to learn from, listen to and understand industry contacts
  • Commercial acumen - the ability to think commercially about the needs of our clients
  • Customer focus - an understanding of how customer needs should be reflected in home energy product and service design
  • Relevant expertise (desirable): energy data analytics and AI / customer engagement / mobile app development / user interface experience / home energy management
