Consultant - Energy Storage

LCP Delta are looking for a Consultant to join our Energy Storage Research team. This Germany-based role offers the opportunity to lead new energy storage research offerings in Germany as well as collaborate with colleagues located in Edinburgh, London, Cambridge and Paris.

- Be an early member of our growing German-based team, playing an important role in shaping and establishing LCP Delta’s presence in Germany
Your role will involve:
- Leading in-depth research on the rapidly evolving energy storage sector, with a particular focus on the DACH region. This role will focus on carrying out quantitative research and analysis.
- Using LCP Delta’s leading modelling capabilities to understand storage business cases in Germany and elsewhere
- Building up research relationships, and leading discussions with industry experts and other professionals
- Secondary research, identifying and analysing data from other sources
- Working with colleagues across LCP Delta’s research, storage and power teams to ensure a unified use of data, and the insights derived from it
- Being our eyes and ears on the DACH energy storage market and sharing this knowledge across LCP Delta teams
- Managing and delivering engaging and meaningful content to our research subscribers in the form of reports, databases and viewpoints
- Communicating with clients or subscribers virtually and in person via presentations, email, webinars and video conferencing
- Project managing and/or leading data projects and reports
- Building relationships and your network with industry contacts on behalf of the company and developing client relationships, especially in the DACH region
- Contributing to the development of the business, especially in the DACH region including attending events and marketing activities
- Being a thought leader on energy storage
- As the team in Germany grows, playing an active role in supporting new team members and building a sense of team
What skills, experience and qualities are we looking for?
For this position, you will be able to demonstrate:
- Relevant BSc, MSc or PhD qualifications or similar experience
- Experience working in the DACH energy sector, preferably in storage or otherwise in the upstream energy sector
- An understanding of energy storage technologies and markets
- Interpersonal, organisational and project management skills
- Writing, data analysis and presentation skills
- Collaborative and team-orientated working skills, including the ability to build relationships remotely
- Evidence of your ability to apply a variety of research methods
- Quantitative research and analysis skills, including modelling capabilities and excellent numerical skills
- An understanding of financial modelling and developing business cases would be an advantage
- A willingness to develop new industry contacts and clients, attend events and play an active role in marketing activities and nurture client relationships
- Commercial acumen – the ability to think commercially about the needs of our clients
- Fluency in both German and English. Other languages would be advantageous

- The Storage Research team is critical for establishing and maintaining our position as thought-leaders, providing hard-hitting, essential research that guides the industry and helps participants to navigate a constantly shifting market landscape.
- As a member of this team, you will be expected to contribute to research, maintain client relationships, and drive the conversation about energy storage in the DACH region forward through a mixture of written reports, quantitative research and open communication.
